Tours & Trips

Getting out of the classroom and learning in the real world is hugely effective. What better way to get an understanding of animals and the environment than to visit and stay in a game park. How better to understand the intricacies of mining than to go underground and to watch a gold pour. What better way to get a feel for the process of mass production than to visit a factory. Pupils learn more in a week on tour than a month in the classroom – and not to mention the social skills and self awareness development that takes place living away from home, on a tour..

Handling lions

All classes from Std 4 up go on major educational tours each year to some place of interest that has links to their curriculum. They camp, stay in hotels or chalets and are away from home from 4 to 7 nights. These tour are often the highlights of a pupils year.

We have visited Durban, Johannesburg, Bulawayo, Chobe, the Tuli Block, Mokolodi, Bella-Bella, Lapalala, Sun City and Gold Reef City.

The pupils have been to museum sites, the planetarium, factories, zoos, crocodile farms, harbour tours, the sugar terminal, science expo’s, leadership and initiative camps, game parks, U-Shaka Marine World, the dolphinarium, cultural villages, fishing trips, the World of Birds and the beach
