Senior-Primary

Between the ages of 10 – 13 the pupils undertake wider responsibilities within our community. Creative and artistic skills are enhanced and all children are encouraged to partake in a wide variety of sports and cultural activities.

The curriculum becomes more demanding in the final two years as the children prepare for the transition into secondary school.

Teacher knows best

The academic course is supervised by the senior teacher and all pupils are regularly assessed to ensure that their particular needs are being met and progress is positive. Individual project work, associated with science, social studies and other subjects is undertaken. Lessons and personal study are directed towards the development of thoughtful and enquiring minds.

Pupils begin to go on educational tours from Std 4. Some places we have visited include, Durban, Johannesburg, Sun City, Chobe, Tuli Block, Mokolodi, Bella-Bella, Lapalala, and Gold Reef City.

A school tour can best be defined as a living laboratory in which learning is obtained through active practical experience with the rich resources of the local community. School tours to the education and personal development of young people are very important in the current educational scenario. A school tour is the perfect way to immerse students in learning and to enrich the curriculum.

Tours enable teachers to expand children’s learning beyond the walls of the classroom into the vast community outside. They offer children with experiences that cannot be duplicated in the school but are on the other hand an integral part of school instruction. They help to improve knowledge and understanding of a subject. Above all they add realism to the topic of study and offer an opportunity to develop and enhance a child’s socialization and citizenship skills.
